More on “site-death”
Good piece in NewTeeVee about Morgan Spurlock’s new endeavor, Cinelan which is going to produce (and maybe acquire) 3-min doc vids and distribute them throughout the web.
“CINELAN, which launched at the Berlin International Film Festival, is looking to reach viewers on “sites they already frequent,” rather than serving as an aggregator or a destination, said the release. ”
This is pretty much what I’ve pitched here at Crossroads, to be a creator and disseminater rather than a destination.
One strong strike against my own theory is that in almost every cyberpunk novel I’ve ever read, the media still ends up being controlled by some sort of evil empire.
