My Only Spitzer Scandal Post

I honestly didn’t see how the current Spitzer brewhaha would ever provide grist for my particular mill, but it is yet another sign that this is truly the digital age that I have, in fact, found crossover.

Many outlets are reporting on the now publicly known identity of Spitzer’s hooker, one Ashley Alexandra Dupree and her dreams of music stardom.

Ashley’s single is on AimeStreet, a music distribution site I have discussed here on this blog.  Their pricing is based on a tracks popularity, so, according to Silicon Valley Insider,  ”Ashley uploaded her first song onto Amie Street on Nov. 8, 2007. Up until yesterday afternoon, you could snag it for 7 cents. Today a download of “What We Want” will cost you 98 cents.”

They’ve got some more interesting stats as well that show seem to indicate she is outselling all the “name” artists on the site by a wide margin.  She has also had her head together enough to upload a second single to the site today and it, to, is already up to the maximum price of 98 cents.

This is the power of the internet and self-distribution.  A traditional label would never have been able to cash in on this sort of moment but and individual connected to the internet can literally become a platinum-selling artists in the same week she brings down a governor.

Awesome.

The Governor was personally working under cover to attain indictments based on factual information, and a completely unappreciative group of citizens turn this whole thing around and embarrass the poor man! He was just doing his job and gathering evidence…The public should appreciate his efforts and back off…

I agree….I support Spitzer’s under cover operation to gather evidence…He should be vindicated… I’ve seen Kristin at VIP Room at the Emperor’s Club….Her price was much lower than what Spitzer paid ??

My first inclination is to say no, do not prosecute him because this is really a victimless crime. However, due to Mr. Spitzer’s “Holier than Thou”, sanctimonious approach to others while he was District Attorney, I feel he should be prosecuted (just ask the guys on Wall Street).

Also, if nothing else, he should be prosecuted for being stupid. You mean to tell me that the most powerful man in one of the largest state economies could not “stash” a few bucks away here and there to pay for his folly? He gets a paycheck and I am sure no one in his family monitors his spending since he rarely has to spend any money.

No. Not Laser Brain! He creates a dummy company and plows money into it as if no one would notice. You would think he of all people would be aware of the IRS staffers who just sit around all day drinking cappuccinos and studying these types of transactions. And he was an Attorney General?

    Arrest the bum!
