MTV, Dove and Alicia Keys Go Micro-Series
Jump to Comments
Dove has been having a lot of success lately with their campaigns, many of which have taken good advantage of the internet.
Now Dove is teaming up with MTV and Alicia Keys to present another in a growing trend of “Micro-Series” - fully realized episodic content shown during the commercial breaks of full-sized shows. In this case, “Fresh Takes” will be shown during the hit MTV show The Hills.

I’m not really sure what to make of this trend. While I’m sure these will be syndicated online as well, the idea of watching a show on TV while constantly trying to follow another show every 7-12 minutes isn’t terribly appealing.

A soap company hired a R&B singer to star in a drama on MTV that will take place during commercial breaks? WTF? But what do I know, that other writer said it was a good idea so maybe he’s right. Being a 27 year old black man, I don’t think I’m the crowd they are aiming for anyway, lol.
