Is Musical Torture Piracy On Top of Everything Else?
I remember back when Manuel Noriega was holed up in his compound in Panama and US forces were “bombarding” him with loud rock music.
More recently there have been plenty of report of the various kinds of music being used as a form of torture on those being held by the US government.
Now (via BB) comes a blogger with an interesting question:
“Leaving aside the legal niceties about whose law if any applies in that dreadful place, one can only wonder if ASCAP might not want a piece of the action.”
That’s right. The US government has not paid the necessary license fees required for any sort of “public” use and are now, at least theoretically, open to a slap down from RIAA!
