Dear Sony – This is Why We Pirate Movies

It is very hard to feel sympathy for the movie studios when they complain that piracy is eating into their bottom line (an arguable statement) if they refuse the do anything to alter their business models to bring them in line with how consumers want their content.

In the latest example of "are you kidding me" behavior, Sony is offering owners of internet-capable Sony TVs and Blu-ray players the opportunity to stream their film "Sunny with a Chance of Meatballs" for the ridiculous price of $24.95.  That's basically $25 for a one-time viewing.

And they wonder why people would rather risk legal action by downloading the movie from a file-sharing site.

The studios dig their own graves deeper every day.
