iPhone App Spoof NUDE IT Raises Good Question…
Making the viral rounds over the past couple of weeks, NUDE IT is an imagined iPhone App that serves as the modern equivalent of the old X-Ray Specs you could order in the back of comic books and Boys Life.
Check out the "demo" Sure, this is a well-made, funny spoof but it does raise a question: What if this really existed? We already walk around all day long with, at least, a little still camera on our cell phone and more and more of us have video capability as well. These "stealth" cameras mean we can record video of just about anything, anywhere. Sure, various forms of security can try to stop us, but that's a losing battle. So, what happens when some whiz-kid whips up some code that really does let the camera see through your clothes? What happens when any jackass on the street can point their phone in your direction and see your goods? Will we all start wearing lead-lined underwear or will society just adjust?
