TVTrigger Should Be a Lesson not a Threat

For reasons of greed denial, the major media companies still think their future will be saved by some kind of magic protection system that will return things to the good old days before bittorrent, Napster and even VHS; that they can somehow sue their customers into submission while obtaining obscene levels of international government intervention on their behalf but this is, of course, just a pipe dream.
TVTrigger is a new (Windows-only) application out of Egypt and beyond the legal reach of Hollywood that probably strikes fear into the likes of the MPAA:TVTrigger is like an iTunes for your torrent downloads. It sits on your desktop, giving you access to a programming guide with a few thousand TV shows, complete with torrent links to download each one of them. (via)
Of course, instead of trying to figure out how to stop something like this, Hollywood should be creating their own, better version that offers all the same content, legally, with some advertising. Instead of losing out on this revenue they could be raking it in.
