Using GPS to Get Kids Moving
More often than not we hear how various technologies from video games to the internet are a big part of the reason kids are sitting around getting fat and not going outside to play.
Well, according to PSFK, there is a one couple that decided to take GPS technology and turn it into childsplay:
“As avid walkers, LocoMatrix founders Richard Vahrman and his wife Moira Nangle were inspired to create a game that utilized GPS, already an accessory to their walks, that encouraged kids to get outside and have a good run around. Essentially, they’ve come up with a game that lets players run around a ‘real’ environment with GPS enabled phones and compete against themselves or other friends in their own secret game.”
The possibilities seem endless for this kind of gaming. It’s sort of like an ARG-lite.
