Your Ad Here

A Brief Followup on Storybid and Videorix

So, I had a little time this morning and registered for two of the latest websites claiming to offer new ways to cashify your videos.

StoryBid describes itself as an auction house for product placement.  The idea is that advertisers can post products they’d like to see in your video and you can tell them how much you’d like to do that for them and how you would actually incorporate the product.

Video creators can also post opportunities for advertisers to place their products or ads.

The problem is that, currently, there is one offer from an advertiser, MGM Mirage Casinos.  Not exactly a vibrant community.

As for Videorix, this seems to be a marketplace for placing ads into your videos.  The problem is that once I registered I couldn’t for the life of me find a help page or a FAQ so I can’t quite figure out how the whole thing works.

I’ll definitely let you know if I am able to cashify.

Another “Self-Serve” Ad Placement Effort

Following up on my post about Storybids comes word of startup effort Videorix:

“Videorix is a unique and easy self-service marketplace connecting advertisers with publishers of online-videos. We provide advertisers with a network of publishers willing to get sponsors for their videos. We help publishers make money with their videos. It’s simple and it works.”

Well, the site certainly seems a bit more realistic but it, too, will have to wait for the weekend for me to test it.  In the meantime you can read more about it here or here.
